Edoardo “Nettare” Garibbo is an Italian visual artist, creative director and musician, born in La Spezia in 2002 and currently based in Milan. His practice moves freely between drawing, painting, publishing, music, video and photography, exploring the intersections between different forms of expression with a fresh, fearless and provocative approach. Working across disciplines, he develops a personal visual language shaped by experimentation and an ongoing interest in the possibilities of images and artistic practice within the context of contemporary society and its constant overproduction.
In late 2025 he co-founded Nettare Studio, where he serves as creative director: an animation studio that has created visuals, music videos and animations for artists such as Gino Paoli, Lucio Corsi for Eurovision, Tredici Pietro, Piccolo and Tripolare, and for brands such as the Tokyo-based Kiirakiira and Billboard Italia, among many others. The studio has collaborated with almost all of the major record labels in Italy. In early 2026 he co-founded piùstella, where he is also creative director: a creative hub and artist management platform whose members count collaborations with brands such as Samsung, Nike, Montblanc, Timberland, Eastpak, Dr. Martens, Pull&Bear, Emporio Armani, San Carlo and Outpump. In late 2026 he founded VisuallyGoodMusic, where he serves as artistic director and head of editorial.
Edoardo “Nettare” Garibbo è un artista visivo, direttore creativo e musicista italiano. Nato alla Spezia nel 2002, vive e lavora a Milano. La sua pratica attraversa liberamente disegno, pittura, editoria, musica, video e fotografia, esplorando le intersezioni tra diverse forme espressive con un approccio fresco, audace e provocatorio. Attraverso la sperimentazione e il dialogo tra linguaggi differenti, sviluppa una ricerca personale in continua evoluzione, che indaga le possibilità dell’immagine e della pratica artistica in una società contemporanea segnata da una costante sovrapproduzione.
A fine 2025 ha cofondato Nettare Studio, di cui è direttore creativo: uno studio di animazione che ha realizzato visual, videoclip e animazioni per artisti come Gino Paoli, Lucio Corsi per l’Eurovision, Tredici Pietro, Piccolo e Tripolare, e per realtà come il brand di Tokyo Kiirakiira e Billboard Italia, tra molti altri. Lo studio ha collaborato con quasi tutte le principali etichette e case discografiche italiane. This is a book about drawing, visual thinking and the deconstruction of practice. It is a manual for exploring the vast contemporary visual landscape and discovering new meanings. My gaze and my drawing are turned towards reality.
Because drawing is always, and simply, a fact of life: a tool not only for investigating, but also for interacting. What follows is a path I designed to expand and strengthen the practice of drawing, dismantle prejudices and keep it alive. It is the reconstruction of a journey that lasted more than a year, in which my drawing passed through cities, friends, family, legends, songs, meanings, tools and surfaces.
The book is divided into four chapters. The first presents alternative yet meaningful examples of drawing practice that stand apart from art history. The second addresses the relationship between drawing and reality. The third reflects on the importance of failure in the creative process. Finally, the fourth chapter explores a new way of drawing, closer to technology and far from traditional aesthetics, with the aim of getting closer to what is useful.
The book closes with a series of twenty exercises, more or less utopian, designed to definitively break down the prejudices that paralyse and limit the way we draw.
